Claudette Read
Claudette Read, Berthiaume at birth, was born in Grand-Mère, Mauricie (Quebec) Canada. She received her secondary education in Paterson, New Jersey (United States) as well as in Ottawa. In 1963, she obtained her nursing diploma from St-Luc Hospital in Montréal, was member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ), later she obtained a bachelor degree in professional teaching.
A woman of many concerns, Claudette Read has been a nurse in hospitals, director of nursing for children with physical and mental disabilities, also a nursing teacher. She undertook a real estate business and was founder and executive director of a private school that trains nursing assistants students. She is now a committed author.
She also is a member of the following organizations: L'assemblée de la Compagnie des philosophes, Longueuil (Quebec.) La Société d'astronomie du Planétarium de Montréal. L'Association des auteurs de la Montérégie (Québec.) And l'Association des retraitées et retraités de l'enseignement Québec (AREQ.)
Her humanitarian approach along the path of her life led her, in 1991, to ponder, then take on a project. Having reached a decision, she would stand by it.
